My new book 'The Midlife Method: How to Lose Weight and Feel Great After 40, is out today, and in spite of everything that has happened this year (and honestly even though I try and stay as upbeat as possible it has been very, very testing!) it is fabulous to be going out on a high.
I am extremely proud of this book. It’s the culmination of many years of research, nutritional study and hours spent creating recipes in the kitchen. I hope you will think it has all been worth it!!
I first came up with the idea for the book way back in 2013, at that time the working title was ‘The Happy Eater’ and a very early draft was released as an e-book. Over time my knowledge and recipe-creating skills developed and I wrote and published The Midlife Kitchen with my friend Mimi Spencer (who co-authored The Fast Diet with Michael Mosley), who taught me so much about the business of books.
I was lucky enough to gain an agent through that process, the fabulous Antony Topping at Greene & Heaton who championed The Midlife Method from the start. It took his tenacity, and over a year of to-ing and fro-ing with publishers, to finally land me a deal with the wonderful Lindsey Evans at Headline Home, who I cannot thank enough for believing in this book.
